Florida Record Sealing Services
When your criminal record shows that you have been arrested or charged with a crime even if the case was subsequently dismissed, this can have negative consequences, especially in applying for a job. For those who have led a law-abiding life and have an arrest/conviction for a criminal offense on their record, the opportunity to “clean” your criminal record is often available and important. If you were charged with a crime and that case has been resolved by dismissal or withheld adjudication and you would like to explore having the arrest expunged from your record or having your record sealed, please contact us.
Our Services
What Is Expungement?
Expungement is the removal of an arrest or criminal case from a person's court and public criminal record.
Once an expungement is granted, the arrest and accompanying criminal case will no longer appear on the Clerk of Court's site or background checks. An expunged record is destroyed.
SEALED OR EXPUNGED?
While similar, record sealing and expungment differ slightly. Our Law Office will guide you to determine which applies to your individual situation and your eligibility.
SEALED RECORD
・The record is hidden from most background checks, unless requested from government agency
・Visible to police agencies
・You are only eligible to seal one case in a lifetime and you cannot have your case sealed if you have prior criminal convictions.
・ Applies to cases when adjudication was withheld by the court
EXPUNGEMENT
・The record is destroyed and is not accessible with background checks
・Not visible to police agencies
・You are only eligible to expunge one case in a lifetime and you can't have your case expunged if you have prior criminal convictions
・Applies to arrests where your case was subsequently declined by the Prosecutor's Office, Dismissed by the Court, or dismissed following the successful completion of a diversion program
